Do you love TV? Do you think you could come up with shows that are better than what’s on tonight?
If you have a creative mind, can find a story in anything, angles to interest people and are keen to communicate this to people, you are reading the right job advert.
We are looking for people like you to join Development Central. Development Central is a small, focused and super charged development resource working across all genres of television from science to entertainment.
Over a period of 12 months you will work to develop ideas and yourself.
There will be training provided throughout the year to support your progress. This training will include courses in treatment writing and programme formatting, self-shooting and desk top editing. There’ll also be an opportunity to pitch your own ideas to a BBC Commissioning Editor plus a short term placement within a specific genre to experience another part of the BBC.
What better way to kick start your career in Television?
You will be responsible for researching, idea generation, taking part in creative sessions and assisting in shooting taster tapes.
In this fast-moving, creative environment you'll also take part in creative development sessions, coming up with original ideas and building on existing ideas.
You'll find appropriate contributors along with new and archived material, ensuring all proposals are thoroughly researched and meet the BBC’s editorial standards.
And you'll have the opportunity to develop skills in content production across all platforms (TV, radio and online).
Are you the right candidate?
There are no formal education or experience requirements needed to apply; we just want people who are passionate about Television, have a creative flair and are enthusiastic.
You will be creative, have strong programme ideas and audience awareness, and a desire to make great television. You will also be enthusiastic about what you do and be able to work flexibly within a fast-paced team.
