Job Introduction

Do you know your social media inside out? Can you create and curate world-class digital content for one of the biggest shows on the BBC?  We’re looking for candidates who can deliver digital-first content for the One Show and grow the programme’s social following.  Embedded within the One Show’s TV production team, the successful applicant would have unparalleled access to our content and lineup, to create exclusive, premium output.

Main Responsibilities

Help grow The One Show’s social following by creating premium output with high production values synonymous with the One Show brand for a diverse UK-wide audience.

Work collaboratively with the The One Show’s TV production and forward planning teams.  To maximise opportunities and access to key talent.

Help develop and produce fast-turnaround social formats tailored to engage a younger-skewed audience.

Run and maintain the social media content calendar to ensure the correct output is delivered throughout the day by the agreed deadlines.

Keep abreast of digital content trends and key influencers that can help drive reach and engagement with the audience.

Monitor social networks for potential threats or opportunities, working closely with the BBC’s moderation teams and escalating appropriate referrals to the Social Media Manager.

Have an awareness of the BBC's editorial guidelines and flag any potential issues. Consulting when necessary with the BBC Ed Pol Advisor for Digital and the Social Media Manager.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen attention to detail.

Remain positive and motivated throughout the production process , responding resiliently in the face of rapidly changing circumstances

Are you the right candidate?

 The ideal candidate will have previous evidence of creating premium social media content for a young audience, driving innovation within a digital space.

They will be confident to shoot interviews with high profile talent & have previously shot footage that has been used for broadcast or published online.

The ideal candidate will be a competent editor able to cut short packages for social media using Final Cut Pro and ideally have some knowledge of creating simple graphics. 

They will be highly organised and work well under pressure, delivering to fast turnaround dead-lines.
