Package Description

BBC Children in Need is looking for new members to join our Wales Regional Advisory Committee and to appoint a new Chair for the Committee. We would welcome applications from those who share our commitment to support children and young people across Wales to be safe, happy, secure, and provided with the opportunities they need to reach their potential.

What do we do?

We support children and young people affected by a whole range of disadvantages such as poverty, disability, illness, distress or trauma. Our aim is to achieve positive impact with and for children and young people who experience disadvantage.

To do this, we raise money both throughout the year and in our annual November appeal. Through this we are able to fund local charities and projects which help remove the barriers that face children and young people and enable them to thrive.

How can you help?

While we want to act quickly to meet need and deliver important outcomes for children and young people, we know we can do this best when our decisions are well informed. Along with data, information and evidence of need, the Wales Advisory Committee is a key part in helping us make grants that put our resources to work where they’re needed most.

We highly value the benefits of having different points of view and experiences on our Advisory Committee and welcome applications from everyone irrespective of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, faith and religion, disability and age.

We would especially welcome applications from those with experience of supporting children and young people from: Black, Asian, and ethnic minority communities; early years, and those with a disability. We would also encourage applications from young adults or individuals who may have benefited from the support of one of the projects we have funded.

Although this is an unpaid role, appropriate support will be offered to enable the full participation of all successful applicants.

Disgrifiad o’r Pecyn

Mae BBC Plant mewn Angen yn chwilio am aelodau newydd i ymuno â Phwyllgor Cynghori Cymru yn ogystal â phenodi Cadeirydd newydd ar gyfer y Pwyllgor. Byddem yn croesawu ceisiadau gan unigolion sy’n rhannu ein hymrwymiad i gefnogi plant a phobl ifanc ledled Cymru i fod yn ddiogel ac yn hapus ac i gael y cyfleoedd sydd eu hangen arnynt i gyflawni eu potensial.

Beth ydyn ni’n ei wneud?

Rydym yn cefnogi plant a phobl ifanc sy’n cael eu heffeithio gan amrywiaeth eang o anfanteision, fel tlodi, anabledd, salwch, trallod neu drawma. Ein nod yw cael effaith gadarnhaol ar blant a phobl ifanc sy’n wynebu anfantais.

I wneud hyn, rydym yn codi arian drwy gydol y flwyddyn ac yn ein hapêl flynyddol ym mis Tachwedd. Trwy hyn, rydym ni’n gallu ariannu elusennau a phrosiectau lleol sy’n helpu i dynnu’r rhwystrau y mae plant a phobl ifanc yn eu hwynebu a’u galluogi i ffynnu.

Sut gallwch chi helpu?

Er ein bod ni eisiau gweithredu’n gyflym i ddiwallu anghenion a sicrhau canlyniadau pwysig i blant a phobl ifanc, rydym ni’n gwybod ein bod yn gweithio orau pan fydd ein penderfyniadau’n rhai gwybodus. Ynghyd â data, gwybodaeth a thystiolaeth o angen, mae Pwyllgor Cynghori Cymru yn chwarae rhan allweddol yn y gwaith o’n helpu ni i roi grantiau ar gyfer adnoddau lle mae eu hangen fwyaf.

Rydym ni’n gwerthfawrogi’r manteision sy’n dod o gael safbwyntiau a phrofiadau gwahanol ar ein Pwyllgor Cynghori ac rydym ni’n croesawu ceisiadau gan bawb ni waeth beth yw eu rhyw, eu cyfeiriadedd rhywiol, eu hunaniaeth o ran rhywedd, eu hethnigrwydd, eu crefydd a’u ffydd, eu hanabledd a’u hoedran.

Yn arbennig, byddem yn croesawu ceisiadau gan unigolion sydd â phrofiad o gefnogi plant a phobl ifanc o: Gymunedau du, Asiaidd a lleiafrifoedd ethnig; y blynyddoedd cynnar a’r rheini sydd ag anableddau. Byddem ni hefyd yn annog ceisiadau gan oedolion ifanc neu unigolion a allai fod wedi manteisio o gefnogaeth un o’r prosiectau rydym ni wedi’u hariannu.

Er mai rôl ddi-dâl yw hon, cynigir cefnogaeth briodol fel bod pob ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn gallu cymryd rhan yn llawn.
